How do I add, verify, or delete a bank account?
To add a new bank account select the ‘Bank Accounts’ section within payment methods.
From here select the green ‘Add Bank Account’ button on the right hand side of the page. You will then see the following modal window:
Here you should fill in your routing number and account number for the bank account you wish to add. The account holder name and account type can also be updated if necessary. Be sure to agree to the terms and conditions by selecting the checkbox before adding your account by clicking on the green ‘Link Account’ button.
Your new bank account will now be listed in the bank account section of payment methods. There is one more step: the bank account must be verified before it can be used for payment.
Verify a Bank Account
In order to be able to use your bank account as a payment method it must be verified. Upon adding a new bank account Stripe will make two micro-deposits into your account. These deposits will take 1-2 business days to appear in your account and will have the description ‘AMTS’ on your bank statement.
Once you know the amounts that have been deposited select the ‘Verify Account’ link within the listing of the bank account you wish to verify.
The following modal window will appear. Here you should enter the two amounts that have been deposited into your account and select the green ‘Verify Bank Account’ button.
You will have ten attempts to enter the correct two amounts in order to verify your account. Once the account has been successfully verified it’s status will be updated to ‘Verified’ in the bank account listings.
Verified bank accounts will appear as a valid payment option when booking a job.
Delete a Bank Account
To delete a bank account select the red trash icon at the right hand corner of the bank account information.
You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the bank account. Click 'Ok' to delete the account. Once the account has been deleted the bank account details will be removed from Stripe’s servers and the account will no longer be available as a valid payment option when booking a job.
Note: If a bank account is still attached as the payment method to a Job that has not been completed (a Job in a Proposed, Accepted or In Progress state) you will not be able to delete that bank account. Select a different payment method for any Jobs linked to the bank account you wish to delete and try deleting the account again.
